EPIC Support Launches!
It’s been quite a ride over the past month. We’ve been busy recruiting Panel Members for EPIC Fostering, and reaching out to more professionals to gain a network around us. I’ve also been busy creating the foundations of EPIC Support which is another integral part of what we’re about (More about that below!). We’re still busy writing policies and procedures and setting up systems. Setting up our phone systems was an experience in itself!
EPIC Support is a part of the organisation that is designed to bring people living in the South West, who are involved in supporting vulnerable young people and children - together; to support each other, network, and learn. As we all know - many of the UK’s systems for supporting young people are broken. It’s my firm belief that we should all be working together. That’s where EPIC Support comes in. We’ll be running sessions for lots of people; whether you’re a parent looking after a vulnerable child (Foster Parents, Birth Parents, Adoptive Parents, Special Guardians, Connected/Kinship Parents), a teacher, a health professional, a social worker, an IRO, whoever you are - if you are South West based and supporting vulnerable children, then it’s my personal mission to give you some additional support!
There’ll be a diary of events coming out later in the year, some with themes, some not, mostly virtual but also face to face. The funding for EPIC Support is slowly growing and coming from supporters who sign up to our Easy Fundraising platform. Whenever you make a purchase online, we get a donation from thousands of participating retailers, and the best thing - it doesn’t cost you anything extra! SO, if you’re someone who spends on Amazon, or Tesco deliveries etc etc, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - Sign up and support us, so that we can support you, as thats how EPIC Support is funded!
